If you grew up in the 80s, Stranger Things hits a little differently — the bikes, the walkie-talkies, the sense that something mysterious could be hiding just beyond the woods. LEGO captured that nostalgia perfectly back in 2019, when it took us straight into the Upside Down for the first time.

Fast-forward to today, and the excitement is back. With the Stranger Things final season arriving in 2025 and LEGO confirming two brand-new sets, Hawkins has never looked so alive (or terrifying).

In this complete guide, we’ll explore every LEGO Stranger Things set ever made — from rare Comic-Con exclusives to the massive new Icons Creel House. Whether you’re a collector, a casual builder, or an investor hunting the next big retirement hit, here’s everything you need to know before you enter the Upside Down.

LEGO 75810 The Upside Down (2019)

First up, we have the LEGO Stranger Things Upside Down from 2019.

  • Pieces: 2,287
  • Retail Price: $199.99 / £179.99
  • Status: Retired (2021)
  • Minifigures: Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Joyce, Hopper, Demogorgon

LEGO’s The Upside Down remains one of the most iconic display sets of the last decade. The design is a masterpiece — a complete recreation of the Byers’ family home, built on a rotating stand that flips to reveal the eerie mirrored world below.

On one side, fairy lights and homely details; on the other, dark vines and decay. The build cleverly uses color inversion — sand blue becomes dark blue, green becomes olive, and the trees literally grow upside down.

Highlights

  • Ingenious dual-world build system
  • Includes all main Season 1 characters
  • Fully furnished rooms with Easter eggs (alphabet wall, walkie-talkies, D&D references)
  • Perfect balance of display and play value
  • Beautiful box art

One of the perfect things about this set is strangely the box art. It just captures the Stranger Things vibe and the darkness of the Stranger Things Universe perfectly. It feels like this is probably one of the best box arts we have seen and probably will see, unless the LEGO group changes something in the future. Every 18+ set they seem to release lately is the bland black background with a picture of the set – pretty boring and unimaginative to be honest. LEGO – if you’re reading this then please be more imaginative with your box art.

Collector Insight

After retiring in late 2021, resale prices of this set climbed fast. As of 2025, sealed sets typically sell for $450–$650, while mint-in-box examples with intact seals can exceed $700. The set’s unique design and full character lineup make it a top-tier collector piece — similar to LEGO’s Ghostbusters Firehouse in long-term value growth. Again though, I think the box art and presentation of this set had a lot to do with the rocketing prices we saw post retirement.

BrickScoop Tip: If you’re planning to display this long-term, use a clear acrylic case to prevent dust buildup on the vine-covered Upside Down section.

LEGO Barb Minifigure (2019 SDCC Exclusive)

For her short time within the Stranger Things series Barb became a bit of an icon as a character, which I think is one of the reasons this one is such a sought-after item, aside from it’s super limited availability that is. The Barb minifig is one which few people are aware of, unless they are a dedicated fan of the show. The details for this one are below:

  • Pieces: 19
  • Release: July 2019
  • Status: Exclusive – San Diego Comic-Con Giveaway
  • Estimated Quantity: ~4,000 units

LEGO did Barb justice — eventually. The Stranger Things Barb minifigure was released as an SDCC exclusive in 2019 and never appeared in any retail set. Packaged in custom printed blister card artwork, this minifig has become one of the most valuable modern LEGO exclusives.

Highlights

  • Exclusive face and torso prints
  • Original SDCC blister packaging
  • The only official Barb minifig ever produced

Collector Insight

With such a limited run, prices have skyrocketed. Expect to pay $1,500–$2,000 sealed, or around $1,000 for a loose figure in excellent condition.

BrickScoop Tip: Always verify authenticity — fake Barb minifigs are common. Check for LEGO-branded neck studs and genuine SDCC back printing. If you don’t want to pay $1,000 plus for this fig, consider buying a MOC from somewhere like Minifigs.me.

LEGO Castle Byers (2019 Event Build)

Castle Byers is even less well known than the Barb minifigure, in fact I think very few people have heard of, or seen this one in the flesh.

  • Pieces: ~150
  • Release: 2019 LEGO Store Event
  • Status: Limited Promotional Build

Castle Byers was a small, heartfelt promotional set offered at launch events for The Upside Down. Despite its simplicity, it perfectly captures Will Byers’ woodland hideout and the emotional core of the show’s early episodes.

Highlights

  • Hand-painted “Castle Byers” signage
  • Miniature forest base and tarp roof
  • Works beautifully as a companion display next to 75810

Collector Insight

Because this set was never sold at retail, few complete builds exist. Prices have stabilized around $60–$100, depending on packaging and completeness.

BrickScoop Tip: If you own The Upside Down, consider integrating Castle Byers into the same diorama for an authentic Season 1 scene.

LEGO 40801 Mike, Dustin, Lucas & Will (BrickHeadz 2025)

This is the second, and probably best, Stranger Things Brickheadz set released into the line up, featuring the main characters from the series. Previously we only saw a pack with two characters, a build which I think at the time seemed somewhat pointless. It included Eleven and a Demogorgon, but none of the other main members of the cast. This seemed like a really strange release. But now, we’ve got the full crew and boy does this one look good.

  • Pieces: 545
  • Retail Price: $39.99 / £34.99
  • Status: Available (2025)

LEGO revisited Hawkins in 2025 with a collectible BrickHeadz 4-pack featuring the core gang. Each figure comes with iconic accessories — Dustin’s cap, Mike’s walkie-talkie, Lucas’s slingshot, and Will’s flashlight — built in the stylized, cube-headed aesthetic fans love.

Highlights

  • Four characters in one affordable set
  • Consistent scale with other TV BrickHeadz (The Office, Wednesday Addams)
  • Compact, easy display for shelves or desks

Collector Insight

Still widely available, but early signs suggest solid future collectibility once retired. Expect modest appreciation similar to Harry Potter BrickHeadz.

BrickScoop Tip: Keep your box sealed if you’re collecting — BrickHeadz lines tend to spike in value post-retirement.

LEGO 40549 Demogorgon & Eleven (BrickHeadz 2022)

Now retired, set number 40549 always seemed a strange choice when it came to characters you could have chosen for a Brickheadz line up from the Stranger Things series. Of course, Eleven and the Demogorgon are both key characters but I think set 31170, with an addition of Eleven would have been a far better choice. Then later with a release of a Brickheadz Demogorgon.

  • Pieces: 192
  • Retail Price: $19.99 / £17.99
  • Status: Retired (2023)

A fan-favorite pairing, this BrickHeadz pack perfectly balances horror and humor. The Demogorgon’s open face petals use creative part geometry, while Eleven’s nosebleed print and Eggo waffle tile nod to classic moments from Season 1.

Highlights

  • Excellent part usage for Demogorgon detailing
  • Compact footprint with strong shelf appeal
  • Now discontinued — rapidly appreciating

Collector Insight

Currently reselling for $35–$50 sealed. Given its dual-character value and small production run, it’s likely to reach $75+ within a couple of years.

BrickScoop Tip: Pair with set 40801 for the complete Hawkins crew lineup in BrickHeadz form.

LEGO 31170 – Icons: The Stranger Things Creel House (2026)

After years of rumors, LEGO returned to Stranger Things in 2025 with The Creel House under the Icons banner — was it worth the wait? Only time will tell when we see this close up in the flesh. For now, what we can see looks pretty cool but why oh why do LEGO insist on these bland box art backgrounds for 18+ sets when the Upside Down was so “standout”.

  • Pieces: 2,845
  • Retail Price: $249.99 / £219.99
  • Status: New Release (Available 2026)
  • Minifigures: Eleven (Season 4 suit), Lucas, Max, Nancy, Mike, Steve, Victor Creel, Vecna, Will, Dustin, Jonathan and Robin

The model captures the decaying Victorian mansion from Season 4, complete with collapsing staircase, haunted attic, and that infamous grandfather clock. It opens at the back modular-style for interior display, featuring flickering light-brick effects and hidden portals to the Upside Down. We’re also getting a car and news van side build, as well as a whole heap of minifigures, which are listed below.

Highlights

  • Six exclusive minifigs with new prints
  • Light-up grandfather clock feature
  • Fits stylistically with LEGO Icons line (Ghostbusters HQ, Haunted House)
  • Modular back access for easy display

Collector Insight

Given Stranger Things 5 will conclude the series in 2025, going just into 2026, this set seems somewhat poorly timed when they could have released this set in October or November, ready for the start of the new series this month. Expect a retail run of 18–24 months before retirement, after which prices could double if it’s anything like the performance of the previous Upside Down — mirroring 75810’s growth trajectory.

However, we still need to see this one up close to decide if it’s worth a purchase at that $250 rrp.

BrickScoop Tip: Buy early — Icons sets often rise in price before discounts ever appear.

LEGO Stranger Things Investment & Value Trends

Our Final Thoughts

BrickScoop Verdict:

  • Best Overall: 75810 The Upside Down
  • Best Value: 40549 Demogorgon & Eleven
  • Most Exciting New Release: 31170 The Creel House
  • Rarest Collectible: SDCC Barb Minifig (2019)

The Stranger Things LEGO theme is a perfect example of how storytelling and design can merge into something timeless. With only a handful of releases, it’s a small but deeply collectible sub-theme that continues to hold its value years later.

If you’re just starting, The Creel House offers a fresh entry point. For those chasing nostalgia, The Upside Down remains one of LEGO’s most technically impressive builds ever — and a must-own for any fan of Hawkins, Indiana.

Whichever path you choose, one thing’s for sure: in the world of LEGO, the Upside Down is always right-side up for collectors.
